Words of Power

Over the last few weeks I have had the privilege to speak with high school students across the great state of Wisconsin on the issues around climate change. Their spirit, conviction and passion has inspired me, and I want to share some of their words with you here. I hope that they give you conviction to read up on climate change, take action and commit some of your own words to the motion of social change occurring daily here in the Midwest and around the globe.

"The environment is important to me because I want the world to be a safe place in 100 years. Climate change really is changing the earth and I want to make a difference." ~Emma

"The ACES bill should be passed because it is pretty bodacious and because I think it is very big deal." ~Jalian, DePere, WI

"This bill [the ACES bill] should be passed because I want my children's children to be in a healthy and safe environment." ~ Kyle K.

"Support the ACES bill. Invest in solar & wind energy." ~ Mitchell, DePere, WI

"I support the ACES bill! I hope Wisconsin becomes a leader in conservative energy!" ~ Emily K., DePere, WI

"It's this generation that needs it [actions against climate change]. Without the ACES bill, this generation -your kids and grandkids- will not survive." ~ Katie R., Racine, WI

"I hope the Copenhagen conference will help get the ACES bill passed. I think it's cool that America is trying to do something about global [climate] change!" ~ Amber, Racine,WI

"I think it's really amazing that change is finally starting -- Pass the ACES bill; change is up to our generation." ~Marissa R., Racine, WI

Let me take your words to Copenhagen! Send me you thoughts and position on climate change -- add your voice to the tapestry of youth voice for change here in Wisconsin and the Midwest.

Ever forward we must continually go.
